2nd Annual Hike for Homeless Veterans
Fundraise with Us. Join the Movement. Share the Love.
In 2018, we trekked 215 miles to raise money and awareness in support of homeless veterans. Against odds, we proved it could be done. Now, we are asking you to join forces with us as we embark on the 2nd Annual Cammies & Canines Hike for Homeless Veterans. Are you up for the challenge?
The Cammies & Canines Annual Hike for Homeless Veterans will commence on Friday, Nov. 1 at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in Point Mugu, CA (North of Los Angeles). The hike will end on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11 in Downtown San Diego, the home of Cammies & Canines. This hike is our way of getting out on the streets to tell our story, share our mission and raise awareness for the homeless veteran population. Our annual hike allows us to keep our mission alive, but we can't do it without your support.
Each day will average 22 miles of walking in honor of the 22 veterans who, on average, commit suicide each day. The Cammies & Canines team will also carry 50 lb packs referencing the veteran suicide rate being 50 percent higher than those who haven't served. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to carry 50 lb packs as well; or at least come take the burden off the team's shoulders and carry our packs for a few miles. Participants are welcome to join the movement for one day, multiple days or all 11 days! Donations are also requested from those joining in the hike.
Whether you choose to walk with us, donate to our cause or share our journey on social media, any support you can provide is graciously appreciated. While we would love for you to walk alongside us, if you chose another way to support our journey, please know YOU are making a difference for our homeless veterans.
One-hundred percent of the funds raised during this journey will impact our mission of supporting veterans. Any and all donations make a difference.
We hope you will join our fight. See you on the streets.
